Its been 20 or so years and the Karate Kid makes a one night only appearance down in Santa Ana. We couldn't say no. Some friends and myself made the trek after work down some 50 miles south in order to see Ralph Macchio play Danny LaRusso. Well worth it my friends. Well worth it. Did I laugh when I wasn't suppose to laugh this time around? Yes. Did Ralph Macchio not carry the handsomeness that I used think he possessed when I was 10? Yes. Did Elisabeth Shue look twice the size of Ralph? Yes. Did Mr. Miyagi play the role of a lifetime? Yes. And did I think it was the best? Hell Yes!

that reminds me...I had a HUGE crush on Elizabeth Shue when I was younger. not sure if it was Karate Kid era or Adventures in Babysitting era...which is pretty much the same era.
Oh and I played blackjack with Pat (Miyagi-son) at some casino off of Fremont St. one year...good times.

Oooh! Adventures in Babysitting. I'd drive 50 miles to see that one too!

The Cobra Kais, although assholes, were pretty damn cute. Just saw European Vacation last night...same main cobra kai guy Johnny was the girl griswald's boyfriend. Whatever happened to that guy?

just IMDB'd Johnny. He's on the indie movie circuit doing stuff. Good thing he hasn't travelled that much into obscurity.
